The Big Midsummer Tea

This year the mid summer event will be held in the field at tthe rear of Oakdale Cottage. Packed with plenty of fun and games (wellie wanging included!) as well as tea it is destined to be a great afternoon. There will be two marquees so no trouble about rain, plus a bonus of toilets and parking. Start time is 3 pm All offers of sandwiches, cakes and scones will be greatfully accepted for this event, Bring on the day but if you are able to tell Sue or jacqui what you will be bringing it would be a great help. This year there is a photo competition to find 12 landscape images of the neighbourhood ( community First area) or the calendar for 2019. Please send your entries to janet.myers3@sky.

The community mower has drawn its last breath so plans are going ahead to find a replacement. All monies raised at the Big tea, The Fish and Chip Supper etc will go to the newly established 'mower fund'

Lending a helping hand

Could you lend a hand? We’re going to spend a couple of hours on Sunday 10th June, from 10:30am, up at The Patch. Some old footage of an event at The Patch has reminded us all of how much space is now covered by brambles and weeds, so we’d like to clear some of it back and reclaim some space for future events. If you could help, please meet us there at 10:30am on 10th June, with tools, strimmers, gloves etc! We will also be organising a litter pick, and will be in touch about this in due course. In the meantime, do make sure that the Summer Tea Party event is in your diary for 2nd June, in the field at Jacqui’s house. Best wishes Helen (secretary to the Old Hamlet Residents’ Assoc Committee)
