Message from the Langstone Community Council

Hi Sarah

Thank you for getting in touch, unfortunately because the agenda has already been published, it won't be possible to discuss the matter of the cemetery at the meeting next week, However I will put it on the agenda for the meeting on the 10th June.

That being said before making a decision members will undoubtedly have questions. Some that I anticipate are:

• Who currently provides maintenance, both in terms of responsibility for maintenance and who does the physical work?

• what are the current costs of maintenance?

• Who owns the land? And why don't they have responsibility for the maintenance?

• what would be the liability of the council were they to take this on?

• would LRA be able to continue if more grant funding was given?

It would be good to have the answers to these before the meeting as it might help to speed along a decision.
