A large crowd gathered to watch the fireworks at Pencoed Castle hosted by Simon and his family on Nov 5 th. Despite a forecast of no rain there were several heavy downpours but it did not seem to dampen spirits. No doubt this was aided by the giant blazing fire which was a feat of engineering and created an awesome display in its own right. In the age old tradition the guy was placed aloft after a great quiz and in seconds he had disappeared .
The fireworks exploded overhead and reverberated around the walls of the castle and put on a great display too with plenty of ooohs and ahhhs. The BBQ was extremely busy
and everybody tucked in to some very tasty offerings
At the end of the evening there were many happy faces and a sense of satisfaction and achievement amongst all those who had worked so hard to make it a success. Well done Old Hamlet of Llanmartin
