Fire, fireworks, food and fun

Bonfire Night

It’s lovely when a small community comes together to share firework night and with so many  contributing in so many ways it added to the feel of satisfaction and the pleasure in its success.

Residents arrived to the sight of a blazing fire which was very welcoming.  A guy sat at the entrance crafted by Jacqui Ford. He was really excellent and it seemed a shame to place him on the fire.

The competition this year was a question which asked what the working wage was when Guy Fawkes was caught. It prompted a lot of different speculation. The answer  was £1.70 and the winner was Amiee who was more than delighted with her bottle of Baileys.  The children were asked to name a teddy. The winning name was Toffee and the winner here was Emilia Tyler.

Giant light sticks for the children and the offerings from the barbecue proved popular.  The firework display was magnificent for such a small community and there were plenty of oohs as they exploded above us in showers of every colour and configuration.

The raffle  and the bucket collection raised just under £250   Well done to all who took part
